A gorgeous blonde is tempting us again and again from more than life-size posters. In her conspicuous smile we can read: "I know it... and you know it..." Yes, it's true. We all know it. One glance is sufficient to realize what it is all about. But we are wrong. She is wrong, I'm wrong, and you probably too. Because it's a shampoo that it is all about, nothing else. And of course we've been led deliberately on the false track. The manufacturer of this body care product invested some money to attract our attention. |
In your real life, tell me honestly: did you ever receive a glance like this? I suppose, most of us never did. What a pity... But fictitiously, we receive such glances every day. Our environment is full of it. So we all know how it would feel to receive a glance like this, and every time the eyes of Heidi Klum hit ours we know, that something like this will never happen to us in reality. We are accustomed to this discrepancy. At the bottom of our heart we know: we will never get what we want. It's normal. It's the way it is. |
Are we the victims of a malicious plot? Isn't there somebody telling us, day after day, that we are not getting what we want? How should anyone dare to frustrate our wishes so insolently? Maybe this should be just the adequate mood for compliant servile subjects? Once accustomed to not getting a desired price, rubbing our nose in it again and again, we will resign more easily to other prices as well. We will more readily accept that others drive the better cars, own the bigger apartments, wear the more expensive clothes, and are invited to the more prestigious parties. |
It is very difficult to ignore such eye-catchers. Especially this advertisement line is hounding me since years. Repeatedly I felt depressed and sorry and couldn't get these eyes out of my mind, promising so much and materializing nothing. This made me feel even more lonesome than I actually was. Will it be helpful to have these posters now on my computer screen? |
I doubt it. |
