Our research project on cardiac arrest (CA) patients started in 2010, in cooperation with Sam Parnia (Stony Brook University School, NY). From 2015 to 2018, we received financial support by the FWF (KLI 453). The team at the MUW includes Roland Beisteiner (Neurology), Fritz Sterz (Emergency), and myself. My part is to conduct interviews with reanimated patients. At the Vienna arm of the study we have accumulated more than 100 interviews. We ask the patients for their last memories before the CA and for their first impressions after waking up. Only then, we ask for any impressions during their blackout. Results have been published in 2023: J Clin Med 12: 1968 (German version).
